I am Dr. Karel J. Leyva, serving as an Associate Researcher at the University of Montreal and the Editor-in-Chief of Politics and Rights Review.
I hold Ph.D. degrees in Political Philosophy from Université Paris Sciences & Lettres and in Religious Studies from the Université de Montreal.
My research in political theory, pluralism, and democracy seeks to deepen the understanding of political thought and cultural diversity within democratic societies.
As Editor-in-Chief of Politics and Rights Review, a trilingual journal published in English, French, and Spanish and dedicated to mobilizing knowledge, my goal is to create a dynamic platform for robust discussions and critical analyses in the social sciences. I aim to connect academic research with public interests, making scholarly discussions accessible and relevant to community issues.
Additionally, I work with the media on human rights issues in autocratic regimes, with a special focus on Cuba, striving to influence public discourse and inform policy-making through detailed analysis and commentary.
